Collingwood Children’s Farm – School Excursion – 2 or 3 classes

Welcome to the Collingwood Children’s Farm Education Program!

With Farm tours, hands-on workshops and self-guided experiences, all aligned to the Victorian Curriculum, your students will discover a program that is informative, engaging and rewarding.

Every Monday to Thursday during term time, we offer a program for 2 or 3 classes with up to 30 (students plus adults) in each class.

The educational theme can be either Meet & Greet or Paddock to Plate or Farm a Better Future.

Meet and Greet

Students will get a chance to observe and interact with some of our animals while focusing on farm vocabulary.

Students will use their senses while exploring the Farm, learning about how we take care of our animals and what they need to be healthy and happy.

This tour is designed for kinder and Foundation students, or students who may not have been to a farm before.

For more information, please see our website.

Paddock to Plate

Students will get a chance to observe and interact with some of our animals while learning about the food and fibre products that they provide us with.

Students will learn to use correct terminology for the animals and understand how some products are altered for human use.

This tour is linked to the Victorian Curriculum Levels 1 and 2, and is best suited to lower-middle primary students.

For more information, please see our website.

Farm a Better Future

Students will investigate the interdependence of life at the Farm, through concepts such as soil health and biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Students will be encouraged to think about how humans have impacted these conditions and learn how we can care for our soil, plants and animals to regenerate the land for future generations.

This tour is linked to the Victorian Curriculum Levels 3-6.

Please note: Due to Farm staffing and logistics, Farm a Better Future is only available as an ‘Option B’ (Max 60 people, including adults)

For more information, please see our website.

Collingwood Children’s Farm is a non-profit community organisation.

Your excursion fee keeps our Education Program financially sustainable and helps us care for our animals, conserve our heritage farmland, and fund inclusive programs to support those experiencing adversity.

Thank you for your support!
