use and maintain my plot to the best of my ability and in a way that does not interfere with other plots or the rights or safety of my fellow gardeners.
comply with all water restrictions set by the State Government or CCF and to take measures that prevent excessive water use in my plot.
use only non-chemical means to manage weeds and pests.
understand the opportunity of having a plot is a privilege and not a right.
if a red marker is placed in my plot, make contact with the Farm Manager to discuss the problem and rectify it, otherwise risk losing the plot.
maintain (keep weed free and clear) the paths around my plot.
uphold my responsibility to share in the maintenance of the community gardens by attending 4 Working Bees (1.30-4pm) held on the 4th Saturday of the month, 10 times a year. Other people may help if gardener is present.
help ensure the security of both Farm and plots by always closing the gates after me and locking the lower gate whenever leaving the plots and can see no other gardener present.
be responsible for the supervision of children and/or pets that I bring to the plots (dogs must be on a lead) and prevent them from causing damage or being a nuisance to other gardeners.
be a resident of the City of Yarra and will notify
the Farm of any change to my contact details, including my email address.
use the communal tools from the shed safely and return them to the shed.
As A Plotter I agree that I will not
expect the Farm to be responsible for the removal of rubbish and unwanted plant material from my plot. Neither will I provide plant material as feed for the livestock unless at the direction of CCF staff.
allow any fencing or other material on my plot to be a potential safety hazard to other people in the plots.
expect the CCF to accept liability for any loss of my personal possessions in the plots, or for any injury I may sustain when working in the plots.
I have read and understand the above Community Gardener’s Pledge and accept that the conditions are part of the responsibility that comes with having a plot.
