School Holiday Program
Collingwood Children’s Farm is a working community farm open year-round. With a commitment to life-long learning, the Farm’s Education Program extends beyond the school term and provides hands-on, outdoor educational activities through our school holiday bookings.
Our School Holiday Program offers a structured and guided Farmer for a Day option for children aged 8–14 years old who learn best by doing. Join the industry professionals and many helping hands that make Collingwood Children’s Farm a special place by putting your farmer hat on for the day. Go on a behind-the-scenes tour to see what it takes to run a community farm, then get involved by getting up close with some of our animals and picking up the tools to do farm work and a workshop!
Alternatively, learn at your leisure by discovering the Farm through our Self-guided Groups option suitable for children of all ages. Designed by our team of educators, self-guided bookings are supported by a map and pack of optional activities to introduce you to the Farm and get you on your way to exploring the green space. The Self-guided option is inspired by the educational and personal benefits our teams and visitors experience by interacting with their senses on walks through the open space and gardens on site—asking questions, reflecting on the environment around us, and learning about plants and animals along the way.

Come dressed for any weather—rain, hail or shine!
We suggest wearing waterproof and sun-smart clothing, including: a rain jacket, hat, sunscreen, pants and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
Please note: to protect yourself on the Farm, you must wear closed-toe shoes. Flat boots or gumboots are suitable options, especially when it rains and the Farm gets muddy.
We are a working community farm, so getting hands-on is all a part of the fun! You can bring a spare change of clean clothes for the end of the day if you’d like.
There will be time between activities for you to have morning tea and lunch.
Please bring your own food with you. Unfortunately, there will not be time to purchase food from the Farm Cafe.

Please have a chat before your child’s visit about behavioural expectations to ensure they are aware of the importance of listening to instructions and showing respect to animals and each other. We will do everything we can to support your child and their needs, however, if there are circumstances where their behaviour becomes a concern, their emergency contact will be called to collect them.
Phone PolicyYour child’s day at the Farm is an opportunity to log off from screens and enjoy the outdoors. We ask that phones are brought at the owner's risk, and that phone use is limited to essential contact. Please speak to your child about phone use to ensure they understand our policy.
