CCF staff members and volunteers are sitting outside around a table under a tree. There is cake and tea on the table. Everyone is smiling and looking at the camera.

Volunteer Program

Collingwood Children’s Farm is a not-for-profit organisation that engages people from all walks of life to become a part of our community. We have a long history of volunteer support and as a community-based organisation we’ve been built by volunteers.

By joining our Volunteer Program, you can contribute to the Farm's mission, learn from experienced professionals, connect with like-minded individuals and make a tangible difference in the community. Become a part of CCF’s volunteer community whether you're passionate about animals, gardening or simply enjoy getting social and being outdoors.

We value the expertise, commitment and passion that our volunteers bring to the Farm and we look forward to welcoming you to our team.

Please note that volunteers must be 18+ years old.
Students can apply for our
Beyond Books community program.

Busy Bees
(Regular Volunteer Working Bee)

Volunteers Jenn and Deb are smiling at the camera. Jenn is wearing a red raincoat, cap, mask and glasses. Deb is wearing a purple t-shirt with a black CCF logo on it.

Volunteering on the Farm provides participants with the opportunity to get their hands dirty, develop a strong sense of community and teamwork, and offers a unique opportunity for exposure to nature and animals.

As a working Farm, we respond to the changing seasons, weather and the needs of the animals, plants and people we care for. Please keep in mind that the activities available can change from session to session, so we can't guarantee particular tasks on any given day. We’re looking for friendly people with the ability to adapt and maintain positivity in all kinds of weather on all kinds of jobs!

Registering secures your place in the volunteer session for the chosen date. If a date isn't listed, it means we have reached capacity for that session. You will receive a confirmation email with session details and a link to cancel your registration if your plans change.

  • Weather-appropriate clothing like long pants and sleeves, a hat, rain coat, a water bottle and your own gloves if you prefer.

Please wear sturdy, enclosed and comfortable shoes for your safety.

  • An orientation session will be organised for new volunteers at the start of each Busy Bees session to familiarise you with the Farm, our safety protocols and the day's tasks.

All participants must complete a Working with Children Check before starting and sign our Volunteer Agreement.

If you are an NDIS plan holder and 18+ years old, we warmly invite you to apply for our Seeding Skills community program.
